I was born in Antwerp in 1961 and began my ballet studies in my native town, Antwerp, Belgium, at the age of 10.

After having enjoyed a long and successful career with three international ballet companies, most notably the Dutch National Ballet, where I rose to Principal Dancer, and became Assistant Artistic Director to this company, I was appointed Director of the Dance Department of the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague (2002).

During my extensive career, I have performed major leading roles of the classical repertoire and could be seen in contemporary repertoire works by renowned choreographers. Internationally, I appeared regularly on international stages, as a guest artist as well as on gala’s.  After finishing my dance career, I taught at several international ballet institutions, staged classical ballet repertoire and assisted several choreographers staging their repertoire.

From 2008-2012, I functioned as Artistic President of the Prix de Lausanne International Ballet Competition. On several previous occasions, I have served as adjudicator for ballet competitions.

Since January 2012, I have relocated to the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, where I am providing young Australian dance potential with my knowledge on European dance training as well as providing my skills to several professional ballet companies. Here, I am to the students and dancers assistance, to help guide them and find their way in the international dance world.
